Covid-19 Home Learning Resources

Whilst our academy is unfortunately closed and we are stuck at home, it is important that our children are able to develop healthy routines that keep them active both mentally and physically. Whilst we are certainly not expecting you to create a daily timetable that replicates what we do in school, we do hope that you can incorporate a healthy balance of activities and games to help keep your child educationally on track (and ready to rejoin academy life when we get the nod to re-open!). We have therefore created this page to gather together in one place links and documents with resources and advice to help support your child's home learning. Please have a look at the 'Whole School Learning Challenges' and year group 'Learning Menus' in the 'Related Documents' section below to help get you started!

We suggest that children continue to read daily for a minimum 20 minutes- you can use your reading books from school or access hundreds of FREE e-books at Oxford Owl. Spellings could also be practised every day- year group spelling list documents can be found below and Class Teachers will also set weekly tasks on Spelling Shed. For extra online activities, please head over to Speed Spell. Times-table facts can be practised as usual on Times Table Rockstars (look out for the challenges we set!) and there is also a YouTube playlist of [very catchy] songs to help the children learn their times tables here!

We have also set up accounts for all pupils on the Active Learn platform that offers online learning, books and games. Please follow this link and enter your child's existing Spelling Shed username and password, along with the school code 'coni' to access book banded reading books set by their Class Teacher.  If your child is unsure of their login or any of their accounts please contact the academy.

Please also look for regular updates, links and activities on our academy Facebook page here and follow us on twitter @MorleyPlace

We have now set up the Seesaw App for even greater connectivity with our pupils and it is ready to use- individual logins can be accessed here!
